Robert Maurice Barklage

Robert Maurice Barklage of Summertown, TN, was born December 25, 1944 in Graceville Bigstone, MN, the son of Maurice Frederick of St. Charles, MO who survives and the late Ruth Christine Meers Barklage.

Mr. Barklage was a retired truck driver with U. S. Express and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict as an underwater demolition specalist. He was a member of American Legion Post 130 in Waynesboro, TN, a member of Wounded Warriers and a member of the American Red Cross. Mr. Barklage lived in Houston, TX over 40 years before moving to Tennessee and departed this life on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at his home at the age of 71 Years, 6 Months, 4 Days.

Other than his father, he is survived by a daughter, Theresa Bowen and husband, Sean of Summertown, TN; brothers, Keith Barklage and wife, Sue of St. Charles, MO and Kevin Barklage of Montgomery City, MO; sisters, Karen Herandez and husband, Xavier of Houston, TX and Sharon Ell of Winfield, MO.

At his request, Mr. Barklage was cremated and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
