Robert "Buddy" Hunter

June 15, 1931 — April 25, 2016

Robert "Buddy" Hunter, age 84, was born on June 15, 1931 to the late Joe Hunter and Ethel Davis Hunter Davis in Stoddard, MO.

He married Edith Watkins on January 30, 1971. He worked for McNairy County General Hospital for 34 years in the Surgery Department as an operating room tech. He was very versatile, skilled and could do any job in the operating room. He was highly respected by all the doctors, nurses and other employees.

Mr. Buddy was a born again Christian man, a faithful member of Forty Forks Baptist Church and was loved by all. He was always friendly, smiling and had a quiet-sweet spirit.

Mr. Buddy and Ms. Edith loved to square dance. He loved bluegrass music and playing the banjo with several area groups, throughout the years. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman and loved to work on small engines and build carts.

Mr. Hunter departed this life on April 25, 2016 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 84 Years, 10 Months, 10 Days. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Edith Hunter of Enville, TN; daughter, Peggy Jackson and companion Randal Alley of Adamsville, TN; three sisters, Virginia Koster, Norma Whitehead and Lillian Kennedy all of Senath, MO; four brothers, James Hunter of Warrington, MO, Marshall Hunter of St. Louis, MO, Lester Hunter of Senath, MO and Otis Hunter of Poplar Bluff, MO; five granddaughters, Natalie Parker (Larry), Nicole Evans (Donnie), Jill Marino (George), Cassie Haynes, Katrina Stevens; three grandsons, Matthew Jackson, Bud Terry and Jacky Killingsworth; great grandchildren, Elani Oxendine, Keehln Baity, Brett Lane, Jessica Lane, Lauren Jones, Johnny Jones, Wesley Marino, Scarlett Samuels, and Bethanie Evans; great great grandchildren, Lillianna and Oliver Oxendine; brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Brenda Watkins of Selmer, TN; special nephew, Andy Watkins and wife Becca; great niece, Sarah Watkins; great nephews, Ethan Watkins, Matt Watkins and Andrew Copeland all of Adamsville, TN.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hunter He is preceded in death by two sons, Bobby and Gary Hunter; three brothers, Donald, Norman, and Larry Hunter.
