Memorial graveside services for Mr. Robert Edward "Ed" Ferguson, age 92 of Covington, will be Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Rehobeth Cemetery. Mr. Ferguson passed away Monday, October 22, 2018, at Magnolia Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation in Covington.
A native of Hardeman County, he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Ollie Mae Moore Ferguson and had lived the last 50 years in Covington where he was known as the "Mule Man." Mr. Ferguson enjoyed having his mules pull buggies and/or wagons in town or on trails. He especially enjoyed giving rides to children.
Mr. Ed was the widower of Wardie Cordelia Atkins Ferguson, who passed away in February, 2004. He spent most of his life as a farmer and logger and retired as a maintenance man at Southwest Tennessee Electric Membership.
He leaves three daughters, Lori Ferguson Southall and her husband, Scott, of Atoka, Judy Bryant of Oak Grove, Kentucky, and Carolyn Price of Bolivar; four grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Dwanna McQueen; two sisters and four brothers.
