Robert Kelton Grooms

Robert Kelton Grooms was born on November 15, 1927, the son of the late Alvin and Gertie Grooms. On January 19, 1947, he married Murriel Alexander Grooms, who preceded him in death on October 26, 1994. Robert departed this life on May 3, 2017, at the age of 89 years, 5 months, and 18 days.

Robert was a truck driver for Gordon's Trucking and Yellow Trucking, both in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a member of Saltillo Church of Christ. Robert loved to quail hunt. He loved his hunting dogs and his church.

Robert is survived by his son, Rick Lynn Grooms of Nashville, Tennessee; daughter, Sherry Grooms of Scotts Hill, Tennessee; sisters, Helen Eason of Saltillo, Tennessee and Betty Mitchell of Memphis, Tennessee; brothers, Bobby Grooms and Billy Grooms, both of Saltillo, Tennessee; and a grandchild, Teresa Grooms of Nashville, Tennessee.

In addition to his wife and parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Grooms and his sister, Ellen Story.
