Robert Wayne Kent

Robert Wayne Kent was born on May 19, 1941 in Blue Mountain, Mississippi, the son of the late William Ed and Elizabeth Kent.

On June 8, 1968, he was united in marriage to Katherine Gail Smith, who survives.

Robert graduated from Messick High School in Memphis, Tennessee in 1960. He worked as a truck driver for Landstar for over 30 years. Mr. Kent has been a member of Cherokee Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee since the late 1950s. He was also a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner for over 50 years. He liked to work and enjoyed riding horses in his younger years.

Robert Wayne Kent departed this life on December 31, 2023 in Byhalia, Mississippi at the age of 82 years, 7 months, and 12 days.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine Gail Kent of Byhalia, Mississippi; sister, Janice Carter and her husband Ben of Richmond, Texas; niece, Elizabeth Carter of Richmond, Texas; nephew, Van Kent and his wife Donna of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; 102 year old uncle, Olin Pickens of Nesbit, Mississippi; sister in law, Debbie Parker and her husband Larry; brothers in law, Jerry Smith and his wife Susan and Charles Smith and his wife Brenda; several cousins; and a host of friends.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his stepmother, Lanora Kent and his brother, Edwin Kent.
