Robert Doug King was born July 27, 1942 in Selmer, TN the son of the late Charlie King and Nola Wolfe King Case. He retired from General Electric in Selmer after 29 years of service.
Doug's life involved around his two grandchildren, Logan and Laralee, whom he called Buddy and Sissy. He never missed any occasion involving either one of them, whether it be a ball game, band performance, or other events. He enjoyed bragging to Jean and family members about his cooking skills.
Doug was a United States Army Veteran. He enjoyed gardening, mowing, and caring for his lawn. He was a member of the Selmer Moose Lodge for approximately 50 years. Doug departed this life on August 18, 2017 in Corinth, MS at the age of 75 Years, 22 Days.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy King; two grandchildren, Logan Williams and Laralee Williams; a sister, Jean King and husband Ralph, all of Selmer.
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by a sister, Geri Parham in 2015, and a brother, Vernon King in 1964.
