Robert Konkus, Sr.

ROBERT STEPHEN KONKUS, SR.

 Born in the Bronx, NY on September 15, 1944. He was the husband of Edith Konkus of Henderson, for fifty-three years. Father of Kimberly Decker of Henderson and Robert Konkus, Jr (Alice) of Jackson. 

Beloved grandfather of Tiffany Decker (Isaac Tiffany) of Martin, Emily Decker of Henderson, Kari and Ashley Konkus of Hudson NY, and Rachel Maxwell of Winsted, CT. Great grandfather of Sophia Konkus of Hudson, NY, Jason Ramero and Stephan Story of Hudson, NY and Payton and Cameron Call of Winsted CT, great-great grandfather, of Colton Call of Winsted, CT and one sister, Rosemarie Farrell.

He spent his life doing plumbing, heating and electric. He had owned his own business for thirty-five years in Craryville, NY.

He was an avid hunter and loved fishing and the outdoors. He had such a love for all animals and was always rescuing something. He had a passion for gardening and collecting junk from everywhere. He would help anyone and would do anything or anyone.

People who didn’t know him and his dry sense of humor were leary of him. But those that knew the real him knew what a caring person he truly was. He was a friend of Bill W’s for forty-five years.

 He was and will always be the best. He will be missed by so many people.

Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Sunday, March 3^rd at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Randy Mead officiating.        

The family will receive friends at East Main 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday.
