ROBERT E. LOVELACE
Henderson, TN: Robert Earl Lovelace age 79 passed away Sunday afternoon April 23, 2017 at his home.
He was born March 14, 1938 in Obion County, the son of the late James Franklin and Dora Kathleen Cherry Lovelace. He attended schools in Obion County and graduated from Troy High School in 1957. He attended Draughn’s Business College and was an air-conditioning, refrigeration technician, retiring from the Jackson Madison County school system in 1999 as a maintenance supervisor. He served 28 years in the military, serving in Europe and Far East Asia, retiring in 1988. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was former owner and operator of S&L Appliances, the Radio Shack, and partners in construction with Junior Smith. He was a member of the Mt. Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Troy, TN.
He married Dorothy Smith in 1961, who he is survived by, along with two sons, Robert Randall “Randy” Lovelace of Jackson and Joey Vernon Lovelace and wife Aida of Henderson; two grandchildren: Brandon Davis and Katie Lovelace, and a brother, James P. Lovelace of Punta Gorda, FL. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Jennifer Ann Lovelace in 2005.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Bobby Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetlips Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 5:00 PM Wednesday.
