ROBERT MATTINGLY
Ripley, MS: Robert Fleet Mattingly, age 83 passed away February 3, 2023, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS.
He was born June 16, 1939, in Greenwood, MS the son of the late Tarton Joseph and Annie Ruth Fields Mattingly.
He was a loving husband and father who was loved and respected by all who knew him.
Mr. Mattingly was a truck driver.
He was the biggest fan the Dallas Cowboys ever had.
Although we know he is in a better place the world will be a lesser place without him.
Mr. Mattingly is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Betty Jo Hill Mattingly; three daughters, Sandra Gerke (Rob), Pam Potts (Randy) and Linda Wall (Dennis); stepchildren, Michael Murphy, Larry Murphy, and Aletha Murphy; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Curtis Cummins, a brother, Tommy Mattingly and a sister, Beverly Swimford.
Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, February 8th at Woodville Cemetery with Randy Potts officiating.
