Robert Coy Melson

Robert Coy Melson was born on October 4, 1944 in Wayne County, Tennessee, the son of the late Noah Velt and Charity Jane Brown Melson.

On November 25, 1967, he was united in marriage to Brenda Wilkerson, who survives.

In his younger years, Robert's parents share cropped and moved around frequently. They lived in many places including Lake County, Tennessee. He worked in the log woods for most of his life and worked for Roach Sawmill. Mr. Melson loved going fishing and watching tv, especially Gunsmoke.

Robert Coy Melson departed this life on February 25, 2026 in Savannah, Tennessee, at the age of 81 years, 4 months, and 21 days.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Brenda Melson of Savannah, Tennessee; daughter, Debbie Brannon of Savannah, Tennessee; son in law, Duane Williams of Savannah, Tennessee; sister, Wanda Wilkerson (Stevie) of Savannah, Tennessee; and brother, James Roy Melson of Adamsville, Tennessee.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Kay Williams; sister, Edith Vandiver; and grandson, Steven Coy Brannon.
