Robert Deroy Stewart was born October 12, 1931 in Hardin County, TN the son of the late William Henry and Lydia Pirl Morton Stewart.
On February 25, 1956, he was united in marriage to Mary Joyce Alexander who survives.
Mr. Stewart proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving three years during the Korean War. Mr. Stewart enjoyed doing military exercises and challenging his grandkids to do pushups with him.
He was a member of Bible Methodist Church in Savannah, TN. Mr. Stewart enjoyed telling childhood stories of coon hunting, which included him barking like a coon dog. He enjoyed Blue Grass music and told many of his father's fiddle being on display at the Hardin County Library.
Upon his reitrement as a shipping clerk for General Electric in Selmer in 1993, he enjoyed his catfish farm in Shiloh named Sunrise Slope.
Mr. Stewart departed this life on August 14, 2020 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 10 Months, 2 Days.
In addition to his wife Mary Joyce Stewart of Savannah, TN, Mr. Stewart is survived by three daughters, Nancy Crumby of Savannah, TN, Carol Carpenter of Brentwood, TN, and Amy Crossman of Hendersonville, TN; two sons, Charles Stewart of Savannah, TN, and Matt Stewart of Vancoover, WA; 12 Grandchildren,and 14 Great Grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Droke; three sisters, Mevolyn Francouver, Josey Victory, and Edna Henson; and six brothers, Fulton Stewart, Clinton Stewart, Glenn Stewart, Arnold Stewart, Nelson Stewart, and Andrew Stewart.
