Robert O. Vencion of Waynesboro, TN was born November 19, 1933 in Elkton, TN, the son of the late Robert Leonard and Mildred Lorene Martin Vencion. Mr. Vencion was preceded in death by a brother; James Vencion; sisters; Imogene Morris and Virginia Vencion.
He was united in marriage to Tonja Spivey on June 15, 1991.
Mr. Vencion was a former Chief of Police for the city of Waynesboro, a former owner/operator of Bob's Restaurant in Lewisburg, TN, a former mayor for the city of Waynesboro and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Vencion departed this life on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Harbert Hills Academy Nursing Home in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 81 Years, 10 Months, 2 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Tonja Spivey Vencion of Waynesboro, TN; sons, Michael Vencion and wife, Patti of Bristow, VA, Robert (Bobby) Vencion and wife, Doris of Cleveland, TN, Corey Park and wife, Christina of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Michelle Field and husband, Tim of Ashville, NC, Stephanie Vencion of Germantown, MD, Melonie Vencion of Cleveland, TN, Kacey Vencion Risner and husband, Jeremy of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Anna Knapp, Paul Oremland, Justin Field, Ryan Field, Daniel Field, Robert Jacob Vencion, Amber Ghanipour, Brooke Park, Sawyer Park, Bentlee Rae Risner, Shelbe Risner and Talon Risner; great-grandchildren, Brendan Knapp, Peyton Knapp, Elijah Oremland, Caleb Field, Abigail Field, Kairi Field, Josiah Gharipour and Samuel Ghanipour; a brother, Billy Vencion and wife, Shelia of Collinwood, TN; a sister, Jonell Sackreiter and husband, Jack of Waynesboro, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday, September 25, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Bobby Pinckley and Charles Abernathy officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the J. R. Cole Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee. Pallbearers will be Melvin Purvis, Michael Twitty, Wes Salyers, Victor Lay, Darrell Petty and Randy Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews.
