Roberta Smith Ferguson

Roberta Smith Ferguson of Selmer, TN, was born on November 9, 1921, the daughter of the late Lemuel C. and Bianchor Cordelis Hunter Smith. She passed from this life on Thursday, November 26, 2009, in Selmer, at the age of 88 years and 17 days. She was united in marriage to Ancil "Buck" Ferguson on October 7, 1939. Mr. Ferguson preceded her in death on January 25, 1967. She was a longtime member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church and was retired from the former Levi-Strauss Company in Ramer, TN.She is survived by three daughters: Shirley King and husband Larry of Selmer, Jo Ann Garrison and husband Clyde of Stantonville, TN, and Lisa Lipford and husband Ray of Lexington, TN; a son, Oneal Ferguson and wife Carolyn of Selmer; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.Other than her husband and parents, Mrs. Ferguson was also preceded in death by two daughters, Patsy Ferguson King and Debbie Ferguson; and two brothers, Vester Smith and Orlen Smith.
