ROBERTA MCCASLAND
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on July 5, 1910 the daughter of the late Benjamin Norris and Sarah Wade Duke.
On September 6, 1930 she was united in marriage to Melrose McCasland, who preceded his wife in death on August 9, 1983.
Mrs. McCasland was a member of Fairview Heights Church of Christ where she was a bible school teacher for many years. She was instrumental in researching the family's genealogy. Mrs. McCasland's favorite pastimes were sewing and crocheting.
She departed this life on July 20, 2009 in Fairview Heights, Illinois at the age of 99 years and 15 days.
Mrs. McCasland is survived by 2 daughters, Peggy McCasland of Fairview Heights, Illinois and Nita Brown and her husband Orvis of Prairie Village, Kansas
3 grandchildren, Susan Brown of Murray, Kentucky, Tim Brown and his wife Amy of Overland Park, Kansas and Steve Brown and his wife Jennifer of New Albany, Ohio
4 great-grandchildren, Carly and Riley Kate Brown and Zachary and Hannah Brown
one sister, Lucille Rainey of Savannah, Tennessee
and a host of relatives and friends
Other than her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Elita M. Owen and seven brothers, Gilbert, Walt, Benjamin, Frank, Herschel, Erschel and James "Ted" Duke.
