Roger Allen Smith

Roger Allen Smith passed away October 31, 2020 in Olive Branch, Mississippi.

He was born November 25, 1961 in Memphis, TN, the son of late Cecil Paul Smith and Lois Jean Smith. Roger resided in Memphis, TN with his parents until they moved to Reagan in 1980. He was a truck driver by trade. He also worked on heavy machinery until he became disabled several years ago. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering on small machinery, and gardening.

Mr. Smith is survived by his children Jonathan (Haliey) Smith of Scotts Hill, Shannon (Casey) Haire of Coldwater, MS; step-children Jason Welch of Sardis, MS, and Adam Welch of Pope, MS; two grandchildren Alayna Smith and McKinna Nowell; one grandchild on the way; two brothers Paul (Alice Smith) of Reagan, and Randy Smith of Enville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Paul Smith on September 6, 2007, Lois Jean Smith July 9, 2019, and his sister-in-law Linda Smith on October, 17, 2018.

In lieu of flowers, the family request blood donations to the local blood bank. Roger was a kidney and liver organ recipient and also a donor himself upon death.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 7th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Darren Martin and Bobby Rushing. Burial will follow in Grove Springs Cemetery at Enville, TN.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday.
