Ronnie Earl Harmon, 65, of Savannah, TN, died Sept. 14, 2013 at Hardin County Medical Center following a long battle with cancer.
Ron was born March 2, 1948, the son of Ray and Betty Harmon. He was a graduate of Central High School in Savannah, TN. He attended Freed Hardeman University and Oklahoma Christian College before obtaining his Juris Doctorate from Memphis State University. He practiced law in Savannah, TN for 25 years before being elected Chancellor in 1998.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Corinth, MS.
Ron is survived by his wife, Renee’ Harmon of Adamsville; two sons, Ben Harmon and his wife, Jennifer of Pickwick, and Luke Harmon of Adamsville; one daughter, Julianne Fowler and her husband, Jared of Germantown; five grandchildren, Justus Bobo and Charlee Kate Harmon of Pickwick, Barrett and Reed Harmon of Adamsville, Jack Fowler of Germantown; his brother, Lonnie Harmon of Savannah, and his longtime friends Debbie and Danny Elam of Stantonville.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by one son, Shane Whitley Harmon.
