Ronald V. "Ronnie" McAlpin, 72, of Saulsbury, departed this life November 26, 2019 at Bolivar General Hospital.
The son of the late Robert Vernon McAlpin and Bonnie Opal Doyle McAlpin, he worked in law enforcement for Whiteville, Hornsby, Bolivar and Middleton for years. He was born May 8, 1947 in Bolivar and lived all of his life here except for the time he spent in service to the country in the US Army. He loved to hunt and fish and was a member of the BASS Anglers Club. He enjoyed watching western shows, but received his greatest enjoyment from being around his family and his grandchildren. Mr. McAlpin was a member of Hebron Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, April Rancier (Steven) of Leander, TX; a son, Ron McAlpin (Anna) of Middleton; a sister, Cheryl Diggs of Memphis; and three grandchildren, Hunter and Wyatt Rancier and Lya McAlpin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry McAlpin. Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to the American Legion Lodge #162, 174 Warren Ave., Selmer, TN 38375.
