Ronnie Everett was born on March 28, 1947, in Tomnolen, Mississippi, the son of the late Boss Everett and Johnnie Lou Atkins Everett. He grew up in Chewalla, Tennessee, a place that always remained close to his heart.
A proud patriot and devoted servant to his country, Ronnie was a Vietnam Era Veteran who enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1964. He dedicated more than four decades to military service as an aircraft maintenance specialist. His distinguished career culminated in his retirement from the Air Force Reserves in 2005, when he proudly retired as a Technical Sergeant with the Maintenance Group of the Second Bomb Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Ronnie attended Ramer High School in Ramer, Tennessee, and later graduated from Memphis Technical High School. Known for his strong work ethic and mechanical aptitude, he worked as a truck driver and was also employed by Owens Corning.
A man of faith, Ronnie was of the Baptist belief. He was actively involved in civic and community life, serving with the Boy Scouts of America as a Webelos leader and as a member of the Executive Council of the Republican National Committee. He enjoyed genealogy, computers, and auto mechanics, interests that reflected his curiosity, discipline, and love of learning.
Above all else, Ronnie cherished his family. He was especially proud of his role as “Grandpa” to his grandchildren and great-grandchild, a title he carried with great joy and pride.
Ronnie was first married to Janet Myers Everett, who preceded him in death in 1995. He later shared 30 loving years of marriage with his wife, Belinda Karen Everett.
Mr. Everett passed away peacefully at his home on January 4, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana, at the age of 78 years, 9 months, and 7 days. He is survived by his wife, Belinda Karen Everett of Shreveport, Louisiana; two sons, Ronnie Boss Everett and wife Kelli, and Joshua William Everett and wife Marrissa; one daughter, Brianna Simmons and partner Ryan Cardin; four grandchildren, SeaKrist Everett, Reagan Laing, Veronica Everett, and Vaylen Everett; one great-grandchild, Elijah Everett; and numerous nieces and nephews who dearly loved their Uncle Ronnie.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Gilliam, Shirley Baldwin, and Gloria Everett Campbell, as well as their husbands, JD Gilliam and IB Baldwin; and a brother, Boss Junior Everett.
Ronnie Everett will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his country, his deep love for family, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.
