Obituary

Ronnie L. Ramey lived a life defined by faith, curiosity, and a deep, abiding love for her family. She was born on May 24, 1970, in Camden, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Danny K. Jenkins and Bobby Suzanne Clyce Jenkins. From her mother, Ronnie learned about the Lord—truths she carried with her throughout her life and passed on to others, especially her grandchildren, whom she lovingly taught about God.

A devoted Christian, Ronnie attended Robertsdale Baptist Church and found joy in Christian music and Bible study. Her faith was not only something she believed, but something she lived daily. She considered her greatest achievement to be the spiritual foundation she helped build in the lives of her grandchildren.

Ronnie had an incredible passion for learning and self-improvement. She pursued college courses in law, psychology, and nursing, always eager to grow and better understand the world. She also enjoyed building and creating, working with her hands and approaching each project with determination and care.

Her adventurous spirit took root early, as she began traveling at the age of sixteen. Over the years, she explored much of the United States and traveled to places such as Aruba, Curaçao, St. Martin, and Alaska—many of those special memories shared alongside her beloved husband, Ricky. Together, they also enjoyed cruises and time spent discovering new places. Ronnie’s career even included driving tour buses for the entertainment industry, where she met countless people and experienced unique opportunities.

Despite her many interests, Ronnie’s greatest joy was always her family. She was united in marriage to Ricky W. Ramey on November 4, 2004, and together they built a life centered on love and shared experiences. The births of her children and grandchildren were among her proudest moments, and the time she spent with them was truly her most cherished. Whether through laughter, quiet moments, or meaningful conversations, she created memories that will be treasured forever.

Ronnie also had a generous heart and quietly helped others whenever she could, including her involvement with the FedEx Family House. She never sought recognition, finding fulfillment simply in making a difference.

On March 24, 2026, Ronnie passed peacefully in Robertsdale, Alabama, at the age of 55 years and 10 months. Though her journey began with a love of travel, her final journey has led her to her eternal home in Heaven.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ricky W. Ramey of Robertsdale, Alabama; her sons, Daniel Washington and wife Jennifer of Jackson, Tennessee, and Aron Washington of Jackson, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Elijah, Owen, and Madelyn Washington; her brother, Eric Jenkins and wife Angie; and a host of special friends who were like family.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or City of Hope in Newnan, Georgia.
