Mrs. Cooper died Sunday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The widow of Julian Arthur 'Jack' Cooper, who died on March 27, 2009, she was a homemaker and worked with her husband. She was born on September 14, 1930 in Whiteville to William A. and Ruth Foote White and lived all of her life in Whiteville. She was a graduate of Whiteville High School, class of 1948 and a member of the Whiteville Friendship Club. Mrs. Cooper was an active, longtime member of the Whiteville First United Methodist Church where she participated in the Missionary Society for many years and was a Sunday School Teacher.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Deborah Cooper Hardin (Marbry) of Jackson; a son and his wife, Julian Anthony 'Tony' Cooper (Charla) of Bolivar; and two grandchildren, John Duncan Cooper and Sara Frances Cooper. In addition to her husband, whom she married on January 16, 1948, and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Alex Zachary Cooper and a sister, Alice Lee Lawless.
