Henderson, TN: Roy Neal Ervin age 80, passed away April 7, 2011 at West Tennessee Transitional Care.
He was born in Pinson near the State Park and reared in Finger the son of the late George Vester and Euna Mae Tucker Ervin. He attended schools in McNairy County and farmed as a young man. He entered the U.S. Army in 1952 and was stationed in Ft. McArthur in CA and returned home in 1956. On December 21, 1957 he married Frances Thompson of the Wilson School Community. They made their home in that area and he worked for Brown Shoe Company and raised cattle. He liked trading livestock at cattle sales. He was a member of the Montezuma Methodist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Greg Ervin and David Ervin (Annette Segerson) all of Henderson and a daughter, Jeannine Ervin of Franklin; two brothers, Paul Ervin of Ramer and Ray Ervin of Selmer; two sisters, Vergie Barham of Henderson and Lerlie Morris of Cordova.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Thompson Ervin in 2003 and two brothers Harlie Ervin in 1997 and George Ervin in 2009.
