Mr. Roy Burton Jackson, age 64 of Henderson, died Sunday, July 4, 2021 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born July 11, 1956 in San Diego, CA, son of the late Otis and Everesta M. Carter Jackson. He grew up in El Cajon, CA and graduated from El Cajon Valley High School. He joined the US Army and served 20 years, retiring as Staff Sergeant. He began a second career as on OTR truck driver most recently working for U.S. Express. He married Ronda Herring on April 6, 2015 and they moved to Henderson, TN.
His early love for vehicles led him into both his military career in motor transport and his civilian occupation as a truck driver and remained with him all of his life. He enjoyed collectiing toy trucks he picked up in his travels and his untimely passing prevented him realizing his desire to fix up hot rods and going to car shows.
He is survived by his wife Ronda Jackson of Henderson; a daughter Brittany Albertson (Patrick) of Clarksville, TN; a stepson Shea Wilkerson, Jr. (Bailey) of Lucedale, MS; two grandchildren Zacharius and Gwyneth Albertson; and a brother Bill Jackson of California.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Erin Jackson and a sister Vivian Jackson.
