Roy R. Staggs

Roy R. Staggs of Waynesboro was born July 2, 1941 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of the late Carl and Louise Duren Staggs. He departed this life at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia TN on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at the age of 73 years, 6 Months, 18 Days. Mr. Staggs was married to Joyce Ann Pulley on August 15, 1964. Mr. Staggs worked in the press room at Murray Ohio in Lawreceburg until his retirement. He was a member of Rays Chapel Baptist Church in Waynesboro.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Ann Pulley Staggs, son, Ricky Staggs, and a daughter, Shelia Kilpatrick all of Waynesboro, and four grandchildren, Chris Kilpatrick, Matt Kilpatrick, Hunter Staggs, and Camden Staggs, sisters, Linda Wooten of Shelbyville, TN, Ann Wilkerson of Nashville, TN, Judy Peacock of Waynesboro, TN, and Debra Smith of Waynesboro, TN, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Staggs was preceded in death by four brothers, Carlton Staggs, Raymond Staggs, Billy Staggs, and Floyd Staggs, three sisters, Nell Smelser, Shirley Frazier, and Brenda Farris.

Services will be Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro with Laverne Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in Warren Cemetery near Waynesboro with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Friday, January 23, 2015 from 5:00-9:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM until service time at 1:00 at the funeral home.
