Royce Neal Barker was born on September 30, 1928 in Chester County, Tennessee, the son of the late Albert Ernest "AE" and Angie Mae Mount Barker.
In February of 1950, he was united in marriage to Maerene Massengill, who preceded her husband in death on December 10, 2017.
Mr. Barker honorably served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He later worked as a desk clerk for Nolans Supply. Royce loved to keep bees, work in his garden, and visit with his family. He could often be found at Halle's Hangout in the mornings having coffee with his friends. Royce was a member of First Assembly of God in Savannah, Tennessee and often volunteered in food drives with the church.
Royce Neal Barker departed this life on Friday, May 17, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 95 years, 7 months, and 17 days.
He is survived by his niece, Lisa Thomas and her husband Brent; sisters in law, Mary Duke and her husband William and Nannie Nixon and her husband Tommy; and a host of additional nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Royce was preceded in death by his brothers, Cecil Barker, Travis Barker, and Bill Joe Barker and sister, Wilma Barker Frye.
