Ruby Wilson Collins, age 84, of Toone, died on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
The wife of Victor Collins, who survives, she was a homemaker and caregiver. She was born October 28, 1931, in Hornsby, daughter of the late Pete Wilson and Eula Gladis Hartley Wilson and lived in South Bend, Indiana and Sarasota, Florida prior to moving back to Toone in 1972. She married Victor Collins in 1985 and enjoyed fishing and hunting. She was an excellent seamstress and also loved knitting, needlepoint and crocheting. Mrs. Collins was a Baptist in belief.
In addition to her husband, survivors include four daughters, Elaine Meixner of Metuchen, NJ, Georgia Davis of Mercer, Susan Newman and Patricia Coley, both of Toone; two step daughters, Alicia Collins of Jackson and Tracie Collins of Brownsville; 10 grandchildren, Michael Mudalel, Angela Fitzgerald, Jason Stanfill, Tika Newman, Lee, Sabra and T.J. Coley, Melvin, Dhonyale and Gregory Collins; 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. The family requests the friends send potted plants to be dispersed amonst the family in lieu of sprays.
