Henderson, TN: Ruby Mae Penland Hilton age 82 passed away January 16, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born and reared in Cobden, IL the daughter of the late Curtis and Ella Hewitt Penland. She went to school at Cobden and graduated High School in Cobden. She married Ray Hilton in 1946. They lived in several different states and operated several businesses and moved to Henderson in 1961 and owned and operated Mid South Motel until the mid 70’s. She worked in the County Court Clerk’s Office for several years and other positions until her retirement in the mid 90’s. She was a member of the Sanford Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Ron Hilton and wife Nellie of Cordova, Jeff Hilton and wife Jo of Henderson and Greg Hilton and wife Jennifer of Henderson and a daughter, Beverly Morrison and husband Bill of Henderson; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Roberta Castellano of Murfreesboro, IL, Norma Moon of Carterville, IL and Barbara Brandt of Roswell, NM
