RUBY INEZ CHURCHWELL FORD
was born in Adamsville, Tennessee on June 30, 1920, the daughter of the late John H. and Octavia Harris Churchwell.
During World War II years, 1941 to 1945, she worked in Memphis, Milan, and Cordova, Tennessee where she helped manufacture parts and ammunition for the war effort.
In 1946 she met Ray E. Ford, who worked with her at Memphis Army Depot. They later married on November 1, 1946. They had thirty one happy years together. Ray departed this life on December 29, 1977.
Mrs. Ford was a member of Crump Methodist Church in Crump, Tennessee. She loved to care for all animals, especially Yorkie dogs. Mrs. Ford was liked and respected by all, young and old.
She departed this life on January 8, 2017 in Katy, Texas at the age of 96 years, 6 months and 9 days.
Mrs. Ford is survived by her son, David Ford and his wife Ann; son in law, Steve Searcy; grandchildren, Scott Ford, Tommy Ford, Sherry Elliott, Jenifer Searcy and Jason Searcy; brothers, John Churchwell, Jimmy Churchwell and Gene Churchwell; sisters, Millie Ungren and Mary Schumacher; and many nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Glenda Sypniewski and Debra Carol Searcy, two sisters, Fay Stone and Ressie Massingham and one brother, Earl Churchwell.
