Ruby Evelyn Johnson

Ruby Evelyn White Johnson, 100, Collinwood, TN passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at Florence Nursing Home.

Ms Ruby, the daughter of the late Lawrence E (who died when she was 7) and Hattie Franks White and stepdaughter of the late D.D. White, was born in Hardin County, December 25, 1916. She was married to Brodie Eugene Johnson 50 years, when he preceded her in death in 1986.

Having taught at Pinhook School for 37 years, she was a former member of the Retired Teachers Association and a faithful member of the Church of Christ at Martin's Mill. She loved to work in her in her garden and was an avid reader.

Survivors, include one son, Ancil Eugene Johnson, wife, Carol of Florence, AL; sister, Bonnie Rich of Adamsville, TN and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Ms Johnson was preceded in death by sisters, Vonnie Stanfill, Lura May Ledbetter and Maudie Beckham.

A graveside service will be Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 1 pm at Lutts Cemetery, Lutts, Tennessee with Johnny Gibbs officiating and Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Mitch Dobbins, Steve Stanfill, David Franks, Tommy Beckham, William Birchmore and Gary Lynn Warrington.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 11 am until 12:30 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home, Collinwood, TN.
