Ruby Pearl Cummins Martin, formerly of Collinwood, TN, was born July 7, 1922 in Collinwood, TN, the daughter of the late Lincoln and Ellen Blalock Cummins. Mrs. Martin departed this life on November 11, 2016 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waynesboro at the age of 94 Years, 4 Months, 4 Days. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Martin, sons, Jerry and Larry Cummins, grandson, Johnathan Thompson, brother, Carl Cummins, sisters, Mildred Burns and Vada DeCapo. Mrs. Martin worked as a cook at Collinwood High School for about 15 years and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Melissa Dianne Butler of Iron City, TN, and a daughter-in-law, Sherrill Cummins of Cypress Inn, TN, grandchildren, Whitney Butler, Wesley Butler, Darla Cummins, Penny Cummins, Brian Fielder, 8 great grandchildren, brothers, Obie and James Cummins both of Collinwood, TN, Marshall Cummins of Centerville, TN, Lester Cummins of Lawrenceburg, TN, David Cummins of Iron City, TN, sisters, Ruth Ellen May of Iron City, TN and Linda Johnson of Collinwood, TN, several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday, November 14, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Collinwood with Gerald Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Collinwood Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00-9:00 PM and Monday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Tommy Beckham, Wesley Butler, Russell Butler, Zac Thompson, David Cummins, and Tim Cummings.
