Ruby Marcella (Williams) Pavel, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, in Lawrenceburg at the age of 90. Born on September 21, 1935, in Westpoint, Tennessee, she lived a long and fulfilling life marked by unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Ruby was a cherished daughter of Herman Williams and Ellen Carden, both of whom preceded her in death. She grew up in Collinwood, learning early the importance of family, perseverance, and kindness—values that guided her throughout her years.

Ruby shared a deep and enduring partnership with her late husband, George Pavel, whose memory she held dear. Together, they built a family defined by love, resilience, and support for one another. Ruby's steadfast and nurturing presence enriched the lives of her children: her son, Bobby Wayne Short of Collinwood TN, and her daughter, Rita Lewis of Westland, MI, both of whom survive her. Ruby is also remembered by her brother, McVeigh Williams of Collinwood, TN. 

A dedicated mother and grandmother, Ruby's heart was touched by both the blessings and sorrows that family brings. She endured the loss of her beloved daughter Rhonda Lynn Davis, and her grandson Nathan Hurley and sister Louella Hickerson. In addition to her surviving children, she leaves behind grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were sources of immense joy and pride for her during her lifetime. The bonds Ruby established stretched across generations and included beloved nieces and nephews, each of whom knew her kindness and warmth.

Though Ruby's passing leaves a profound absence, her memory is honored and cherished by all those she touched with her steadfast love and generosity. Her enduring legacy is the love she bestowed upon her family and the fond memories held by each of them.

In accordance with Mrs. Ruby's personal wishes, the family will be honoring her request for cremation.
