Ruth "Polly" Barber

Ruth "Polly" Barber was born May 9, 1948 in the Needmore Community of McNairy County, TN, the daughter of the late Gilbert Lee and Omie May Gray Lipford.

Mrs. Barber attended school in Michie.  She previously worked in the cafeteria of ITT in Corinth, as well as for Wonder Bread and Gunn Drug Store.  Crocheting, cooking, and spending time with family and friends were among her favorite activities.  Mrs. Barber was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church.  

Mrs. Barber departed this life on July 5, 2023 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 75 Years, 1 Month, 26 Days.  She is survived by two sisters, Margaret Marecle and husband Rickey of Corinth, MS and Nora Mae Ashe of Selmer, TN, and several nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Francis Gray, and four brothers: Lloyd Earl (Herb) Burks, James O. (Tom) Burks, Wilford Lipford, and Jimmy E. Lipford.
