Ruth Ann was born in Milan, Tennessee on October 31, 1947, the daughter of the late John Thomas and Addie Bell Bendel Melton. She had lived in Hardin County for the last 30 years and was employed with Hardin Medical Center for 10 years. Ruth Ann enjoyed taking care of animals, especially wildlife, and feeding 2 wild wolves. She was a collector of many things, and enjoyed dumpster digging and fishing. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Roger Dale Scott and wife Nancy of Savannah, Tennessee, Roy Allen Scott of Pikeville, Tennessee, Donna Sue Davis and Jimmy Wayne Scott ; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Zula Ann Scott.
