Ruth Eubanks Garvin, lovingly known as “Momma Ruthie” to her family and simply “Ruthie” to so many friends, passed away peacefully at home on July 28, 2026, at the age of 80.

Born on September 2, 1945, Ruthie was the daughter of the late Clarence Rayford Eubanks and Lura Crook Eubanks. She grew up in Arkansas and graduated from Shawnee High School. Ruthie dedicated many years of her career to AT&T. On February 25, 1991, she married the love of her life, Bob Garvin, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and unconditional love in Humboldt, TN. She was a faithful woman whose life was rooted in her love for God and her family. She was an active member of her church and was the steady heart of her family through every season of life.

Ruthie is survived by her devoted husband, Bob Garvin; her treasured sister, Linda Rhodes; her loving children, Leslie Garvin, Ashlyn Peden, and Trent Dickinson (Channin); her cherished grandchildren, Jordan Counce (Hayden), Autumn Peden (Marcus), Adrienne Mosley (Eric), Alex Peden (Caitlin), and Olivia Rosenthal (Sam); her adored great-grandchildren, Tripp, Monroe, Morlen, W.T., Stella, Kidd, Bellamy, June, and the eagerly anticipated arrival of Baby #9; and her loyal dog, Mateo.

She was preceded in death by her father Rayford Eubanks, her mother Lura Eubanks, her sister Nancy Bacot, and her son-in-law John Peden.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She never missed an opportunity to love on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruthie had a gift for making life’s ordinary moments extraordinary. Her family will forever hear her cheerful greeting of, “Hey babe”. Whether admiring nature, worshiping God, or spending time with those she loved most, Ruthie lived each day with a generous heart and a servant’s spirit.

To know Ruthie was to know unconditional love. She welcomed everyone with kindness and left a lasting impression on every life she touched. Her legacy is one of faith, compassion, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Ruthie will be forever missed.
