Ruth Elaine Trivett departed this life on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at the age of 72 years, 10 months, and 15 days. She was born in Tyronza, Arkansas on July 15, 1944, the daughter of the late Herman D. and Patricia Irene Franklin Barrier. On March 27, 1965, she was united in marriage to Houston Barry Trivett, who preceded her in death on March 30, 2017.
Ruth had lived in Mishawaka, Indiana and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved gardening, sewing, and cooking, especially beans and cornbread. She enjoyed going to Tunica, loved Notre Dame football, and watching The Walking Dead. She loved her family, especially her children and was adored by her grandchildren. Ruth was the matriarch of her family.
She is survived by her children, Greg Young and his wife Becky of Osceola, Indiana, Michelle Wagner and her husband Mark of Mishawaka, Indiana, Deanna Trivett and her fiancé Devon of Plymouth, Indiana, Bridgette Jackson and her husband Mark, and Kerstie Moore and her husband Jesse, all of Savannah, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Autumn Stribling, Elise Szalay, Erica Davis, Patrick Wagner, Houston Jackson, Alexis Jackson, and Nicole Sante; her great-grandchildren, Gracie Szalay, Ashton Davis, Emma Sante, and Brandon Sante; her sisters, Ruby Young of Savannah, Tennessee, Lula Belle Corley of New Carlisle, Indiana, and Diane Austin of Savannah, Tennessee; and her brothers, Joe Barrier of Southbend, Indiana, Sonny Barrier of Savannah, Tennessee, Roy Barrier of Mishawaka, Indiana, Ronnie Barrier of Savannah, Tennessee, Junior Barrier of Mishawaka, Indiana, and David Cossey of South Carolina.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannie Trivett; and grandsons, Adam Vickery and Andrew Vickery.
