Sadie Olene Harbin was born December 22, 1928 in Huntsville, AL the daughter of the late Leighton Sydney and Daisy Byron Hymer.
She was united in marriage to Herman Harbin on January 20, 1945. Mr. Harbin preceded her in death on June 20, 2004, following 59 years of marriage.
Mrs. Harbin formerly worked in the garment industry for Garan, Inc. in Adamsville. She also spent 20 plus years working for Wurlitzer Piano Company in Corinth, assembling circuit boards for organs. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and crocheting. She and her husband, Brother Herman Harbin, would raise two pigs each year and cure their own meat. Brother Herman loved to fish and Sister Sadie loved to eat fish and their eggs; an arrangement that worked to the benefit of both. Sister Sadie was an only child; as a result, she always wanted "a houseful of kids," a dream she was obviously successful in achieving. She was a faithful supporter of her husband as he worked in various Tri-State area ministries for 55 years. Sister Sadie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother; her favorite activity was spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Selmer.
Mrs. Harbin departed this life on April 12, 2017 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 3 Months, 21 Days. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Singleton and husband Mike of Jackson, TN; six sons: Wayne Harbin and wife Janice of Selmer, TN, David Harbin and wife Starlite of Pickwick Dam, TN, Randall Harbin and wife Mae of Cherokee, AL, Jimmy Harbin and wife Georgina of Selmer, TN, Billy Harbin and wife Verna of Pickwick Dam, TN, and Michael Harbin and wife Sue of Selmer, TN; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.
