SAM SMITH
Adamsville, TN: Samuel Royce Smith age 68 passed away June 21, 2014 at the Savannah Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Chester County the son of the late Ivy G. and Pearlie Mae Essary Smith. He went to school at Sardis. He did construction work in Texas, cut timber for Roach Brothers at Enville and worked at Kilburn Chrome Company at Adamsville. He had been retired and disabled for twenty years. The family wishes to thank Brenda Comer for her care and kindness. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Milledgeville.
Mr. Smith is survived by a son, Jeffery Smith of Lexington; a daughter, Lisa Kegley of Jackson; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis Smith of Tullahoma, TN and Glen Smith of Memphis; three sisters, Dortha Davis of Lenoir City, Betty McClellan of Lenoir City and Brenda Bushnell of Reagan.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Ruby Crowell, Bobbie Helms, Maxine Organ, Wanda Johnson and Jimmie Carnes and two brothers, J.T. Smith and Paul Smith.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday June 23, 2014 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with W.D. Hilton officiating and burial will follow in Milledgeville cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday
