Sandra Shea Bahr

Sandra Shea Bahr passed away peacefully in her home on February 8, 2018, she was 80.

Sandra was born on July 2, 1937 in Ramer to her parents George and Sadye Shea. One of ten children, Sandra was the third youngest and one of the "Shea girls." Her siblings always described her as fun and full of energy.

In 1960, Sandra married John Bahr, who was serving in the United States Army. Together they traveled all over the country and to Germany as John served. John and Sandra were married for 53 years when John passed away in 2013.

Sandra was a devoted mother to her four children and a loving grandmother to her 3 grandchildren. She was an animal lover her whole life. Her dogs were beloved members of her family and she especially loved Buster and Rusty.

Sandra had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She enjoyed movies, listening to classical music and spending time with family and friends. She loved to take walks. Sandra was kind, generous and compassionate. She was a great cook who never measured anything.

For the past several years, Sandra suffered from dementia. She was able to stay in her home through the loving care of her son John and caregivers Joyce, Bobbie Sue and Louise, as well as excellent care from AseraCare nurses and aides.

Sandra is preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents, George and Sadye Shea; her brothers, George, Jim, Maurice, and Tim; and her sisters, Nan, Wilma and Kay.

Sandra is survived by her children Monica, Kim, John, and Brad; daughter-in-law, Stacy; grandchildren, Camille, Corinne and Nicolas; brother, Dennis; sister, Connie and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sandra will be buried by her husband at Corinth National Cemetery on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 1:00 PM.
