Sandra Kay Melson Williams was born on October 18, 1968, the daughter of the Robert Coy Melson and Brenda Kay Melson. 

She graduated from Hardin County High School in 1986. After graduating from high school, she went to Middle Tennessee State University where she graduated in 1990 with a degree in elementary education K-6 grade. Her first job in education was filling in for a person's maternity leave at Pickwick Southside. After that, she went to Hardin County High School to work as a librarian. Sometime in the mid 2000s, she went back to school on Saturdays and got her masters degree in library science. At the time of her death, she was the librarian at Northside Elementary School.

In 2002, Sandra met the love of her life, Joe Duane Williams. They were united in marriage on February 1, 2003.

Sandra Kay Melson Williams departed this life on September 30, 2023 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 54 years, 11 months, and 12 days.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Duane Williams; parents, Coy and Brenda Melson; sister, Debbie Jane Brannon; nephew, Steven Coy Brannon; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.


The Williams family requests book donations in memory of Sandra Williams be made to Northside Elementary School or memorial donations to Savannah Church of Christ Sprouts.
