Mrs. Sipes died Saturday afternoon at Pine Meadows Healthcare in Bolivar.
She was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Elizabeth McWilliams Deming and lived all of her life in this area. Mrs. Sipes was the widow of the late Herman Howard Sipes, who died March 16, 1989. A member of the Bolivar First United Methodist Church, she was a 1937 graduate of Bolivar Central High School and was employed 32 years at the Bolivar Tannery as Payroll and Insurance Clerk. She enjoyed time spent with family, fishing and activities in and around water, particularly Pickwick Lake.
She leaves her daughter, Lindy Sipes Slaughter and husband, Myran, of Jackson; her son, Bobby Sipes and wife, Betty, of Bolivar; her sister, Mary Deming Jared of Medon; three grandchildren, Robbie Sipes of Gainesville, FL, Rachel Thearp of Whiteville, and Jami Slaughter of Jackson.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers - Robert Cornelius "Jackie" Deming, Winfred Deming and Ellis "Red" Deming.
