SARA BETH THOMAS - PRESLAR

Henderson, TN: Sara Beth Thomas Preslar, age 40, passed away October 21, 2025, from a lengthy health issue at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She was born June 24, 1985, the daughter of Tony Thomas and Mary Blackburn Thomas. She grew up in Henderson and was a graduate of Christian Life Academy. She also received a diploma from West TN Business College in Jackson in 2004.

She worked multiple jobs throughout the years. She had been employed at Food Giant Supermarket for a time, Proctor and Gamble, TBDN, and lastly working at Durobag in Jackson for several years.

Sara married Mike Preslar on November 25, 2017, and they made their home in Henderson, where they loved spending time with their son, Ethan Wayne Pickens. She enjoyed spending time with her family and sharing holiday time with them. She especially loved doting on her little Shih Tzu dog, Daisy May. Sara enjoyed raising flowers, helping tend to the family’s chicken farm and being a housewife after leaving her job in 2022 due to her health.

Sara’s husband, Mike, preceded her in death on January 13, 2025.

Sara is survived by her beloved son, Ethan Wayne Pickens of Henderson; father, Tony and Jacki, her stepmother of Henderson; three sisters, Lori Qualls of Whiteville, TN, Alison Bullman (Jerry) of Jackson, TN, Lisa Smith (Brad) of Paris, TN and a stepbrother, Kyle Wheeler of Jackson, TN. She leaves behind eight beloved nieces and nephews, Lauren, Hayden, Skyler, Mason, Mary, Ava, Owen and Finn to cherish her memory. She also leaves behind a host of aunts and uncles who thoughts the world of her.

In addition to her mother, Mary Blackburn Thomas and her husband, Mike Preslar, she is also preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Helen Thomas and Happle and Betty Blackburn; two stepbrothers, Lance Wheeler (Jacqueline) and Joshua Wheeler.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday October 25, 2025, at Shackelford Funeral Directors - East Main Chapel with burial at Chester County Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at East Main from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Friday and again from 12:00 to 2:00 PM service time Saturday.
