Sarah Frances Gurley Bright was born October 24, 1938 in Bath Springs, TN the daughter of the late John and Queenie Elizabeth Rogers Gurley.
She was united in marriage to Joseph Bright on February 24, 1968. Mr. Bright preceded her in death on July 18, 2011, following 43 years of marriage.
Mrs. Bright was a homemaker. She enjoyed raising and caring for her flowers and loved all animals, taking in many strays through the years. Although she and her husband had no biological children, they loved and raised their niece Lisa as their own. Mrs. Bright was a member of the Selmer Second Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bright departed this life on August 18, 2020 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 81 Years, 9 Months, 25 Days. She is survived by a sister, Cathy Stockberger and husband Dennis of Berrien Springs, MI; a niece, Lisa Moore and husband Dan of Bethel Springs, TN; a great-niece, Shelby Coln and husband Andy of Memphis, TN; two great-great-nieces, Nora and Myra Coln; and many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Bright was preceded in death by four brothers: James Gurley, Thomas Gurley, Robert Gurley, and Johnny Gurley; and three sisters: Lucille Mann, Ruth Thompson, and Dorothy Diaz.
The family wishes to thank the Nurses, CNA's, Therapy Dept., and Staff of AHC McNairy for their care and concern during Mrs. Bright's illness.
