Sarah Hooper, cherished daughter of the late Fred and Eddie Mae Noe Wilson, was born on March 20, 1945, in Uptonville, Tennessee. On March 13, 1965, she joyfully united in marriage with Gerald Thomas Hooper, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love and dedication.

Together, Sarah and Gerald embarked on a shared dream, founding the Hooper Lumber business. Her instrumental role in establishing and growing the business was a testament to her determination and hardworking spirit. Though Gerald preceded her in death on August 21, 2020, their bond and shared legacy remain deeply treasured.

A devoted Christian, Sarah was a beloved member of Maple Springs Baptist Church in Medon, Tennessee. Her Sunday School class held a special place in her heart, and the church community was an enduring source of comfort and joy. Known for her steadfast faith, meticulous nature, and endless creativity, Sarah was especially talented with sewing, bringing beauty and care through her craft.

Sarah Hooper’s heart truly shone brightest when surrounded by the warmth of family. Her greatest joy came from these moments of togetherness, where laughter and love filled the air.

On June 5, 2026, Sarah peacefully departed this life in Toone, Tennessee, at the age of 81 years, 2 months, and 16 days. Her life was a testament to love, faith, and dedication, and she leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

She is survived by a son, Steven Hooper and wife Rhonda of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Angie Hooper Shearin and husband Denton of Toone, TN; son-in-law, Billy Turner of Toone, TN; two sisters, Ann Durfee of Hazel Green, AL, Carolyn Taylor and husband Lee Roy of Jackson, TN; a brother, Roy Wilson and wife Shirley of Uptonville, TN; five grandchildren: Jessica Shearin Dean and husband Mark, Houston Shearin, Haleigh Hooper, Grant Hooper, Brooke Turner; sister in law, Judy Wilson of Medon, TN, and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hooper was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Turner; a sister, Helen Hoffman; two brothers, Edward and Bob Wilson. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to the American Cancer Society (American Cancer Society), the Dementia Society of America (Dementia Society of America) or Maple Springs Cemetery Fund, 155 Maple Springs Rd, Medon, TN 38356.
