Sheila Bendall

Sheila Bendall, a devoted mother, daughter, partner, and caring spirit, passed away on August 4, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on New Year's Day, January 1, 1970, in Selmer, Tennessee, Sheila held the unique distinction of being the very first baby born at the Selmer Hospital in 1970. She was the cherished daughter of Janette Willis Bendall and the late Parvin Parnell Bendall.

Sheila was a 1988 graduate of McNairy Central High School and went on to earn her associate degree in electronics from the State Technical Institute in Memphis, Tennessee. She put her organizational skills and dedication to work as the Property Manager for Bendall Properties. Beyond her professional life, one of her most meaningful roles was serving as a compassionate, devoted caregiver to her mother.

An adventurous spirit at heart, Sheila loved to fish and travel. She famously logged trips across 26 states while traveling with her son for his taekwondo tournaments, always his biggest supporter from the stands. At home, she found peace in tending to her animals, holding a special place in her heart for her beloved cats. Her faith was anchored early in life when she was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church.

Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Parvin Parnell Bendall, and her brother, David Wayne Bendall.

Her loving legacy will live on through her family. She is survived by her mother, Janette Bendall of Ramer, TN; her son, Austin Parmely of Memphis, TN; her partner, Shelly Parmely of Selmer, TN; her uncle, Marvin Bendall; her aunts, Joann Westmoreland and Rose; and a host of extended family.
