Sheila Gwynn Denson (Perigo), age 66, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 21, 2025, in Martin, Tennessee. Born on February 14, 1959, in Nashville, Tennessee, Sheila lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and unwavering love for God, her family and friends.

Sheila was the beloved daughter of the late Carol Ann Wilson (Brown), stepfather, Ronald Nelson Wilson. and father, the late Thomas Arthur Perigo. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Vickie Lynn Brown. Her legacy continues through her children: daughter Kimberly Burton (Ronnie) and son Nicholas Denson. Sheila is survived by her brother, Thomas Andrew Perigo (Traci), and sisters, Angela Kay Griffin (Scott) and Rhonda Carol Wilson.

A proud graduate of Union University, Sheila dedicated nearly three decades of her life to serving others as a Registered Nurse. Her career was not just a profession but a calling—one that reflected her deep empathy and tireless commitment to the well-being of those in her care.

Sheila’s heart extended far beyond the walls of any hospital or clinic. She found profound joy and purpose with God and her church family at Central Baptist Church in Martin, Tennessee. Her faith in God was a guiding light throughout her life and she cherished the fellowship and spiritual connection she shared with her congregation.

Those who knew Sheila remember her as kind-hearted and generous—a woman whose love radiated outward to embrace not only her family but also friends, neighbors, and animals alike. Whether offering a listening ear or lending a helping hand, Sheila’s presence brought comfort and warmth to all around her.
