Shelia Joan Treece was born on December 12, 1944, in Selmer, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Ernest Treece and Melba Ruth Raines Treece.
Following her graduation, Shelia attended West Tennessee Business College in Jackson. She later moved to Memphis, where she worked as a secretary for many years before returning home to McNairy County. After settling in Stantonville, she dedicated nearly 24 years to serving the students of the Michie community as a school bus driver.
Shelia was a gifted and accomplished artist with a lifelong passion for creativity. She owned and operated an art studio in Adamsville and studied under renowned artist Fred Rawlinson of Germantown for many years. Her artwork was featured in numerous exhibits throughout West Tennessee, including Jackson, Germantown, and other surrounding communities. In addition to painting, Shelia had a talent for floral design and enjoyed catering special events, sharing her creativity with everyone around her.
More than anything, Shelia loved people. She cherished spending time with family and friends, never meeting a stranger, and bringing joy to others through her warm heart, kind spirit, and artistic gifts.
