Sherry Letienne

May 25, 1955 — September 8, 2025

Savannah, TN

Sherry Letienne, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and wife, passed away on September 8, 2025, at Regional Health Care Corinth, Mississippi. She was born on May 25, 1955, in Memphis, Tennessee. Throughout her life, Sherry radiated warmth and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her.

Sherry dedicated much of her career to retail until she faced the challenges of disability. Despite this, her spirit remained unyielding, inspiring friends and family alike with her resilience and capacity for joy. She had a deep and abiding faith in God as a Southern Baptist, which guided her journey through life’s ups and downs.

A woman of many passions, Sherry found joy in dancing and riding motorcycles. She cherished the moments spent with her family, always seeking out opportunities for travel and culinary creativity. An avid collector of M&M figurines, Sherry delighted in bringing home treasures that embodied her playful spirit. She particularly adored being around her family’s babies, where her nurturing nature shone brightly.  Sherry was a Southern Baptist in faith and although she lived her early years in Hardeman County, she lived the past 12-13 years in Savannah, TN.

Sherry leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her devoted husband, Mo Letienne of Savannah, whom she married on January 17, 2003, and her cherished daughters: Lilah Shea Naylor Balentine of Savannah, Amanda Lynn Letienne, Angela May Spencer, and Aimee Leigh Letienne, all of Trenton. Her son, Anthony "Tony" Troy Letienne of Trenton, along with her nine beloved grandchildren, stand as a testament to the love she fostered within her family. Sherry’s sisters, Loretta Sides (Kevin Turnbow) of Bolivar, Lisa Garnett (Bobby) of Kentucky, and Melonie Kiestler of Somerville, along with her brothers, Wayne Stewart and Debbye of Middleton, Bobby Stewart, and Patrick Stewart, both of Illinois, carry on her legacy of love and strength.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Henry Stewart, her mother, Celestial Kay McKelvey Pipkin Alsup, and her stepfathers, Gilbert T. Pipkin and C.D. Alsup. Sherry also mourned the loss of her brother, James Danial Stewart, and her maternal grandparents, Lilah Maude McKelvey and Leslie McKelvey.

In her absence, Sherry’s spirit will live on through the laughter and love she spread during her life. Her family will honor her memory with several services at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Middleton, TN. A visitation will be held on September 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and again on September 14, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Sherry will find her final resting place at Rogers Springs Cemetery.
