Sherry Gayle Thomas

Sherry Gayle Champion Thomas of Collinwood, TN departed this life on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, Alabama at the age of 59 Years, 11 Months, 17 Days. She was born December 30, 1955 in Paducah, KY, the daughter of Evelyn Graves Koster of Kevil, KY, who survives and the late L.C. Champion.

Sherry had worked as an insurance clerk with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of KY and Woodmen of World and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee.

She was united in marriage to Jimmy Thomas on October 24, 1985.

Other than her mother, she is survived by her husband, Jimmy Thomas of Collinwood, TN, daughter, Kitty Thomas Blazer and husband, John of Tuscumbia, AL; son, Zack Thomas of Nashville, TN; grandchildren; Alex Thomas and Lilly Blazer and sister, Anita Wood of Paducah, KY.

Services will be Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 1:00 PM Shackelford Funeral Home chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Jeff Davis and Jerry Wayne Franks officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Andy Yarbrough, Kelvin Runions, Edwin Barnett, Gary Hess, David Miller, Stan Bromley, Jeff Duren and Roger Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Wallace, James Herbert Haggard, Elvis Riley, Dr. David Colvard and Dr. Phillip Wakefield.

Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 18th, 2015 from 6:00-9:00 pm and Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015 from 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
