Shirley Brewer

Shirley Brewer, 67, of Hickory Valley, departed this life September 6, 2018 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.

The wife of Leon Brewer, who survives, she formerly worked for GST now known as NYK Logistics in Memphis as an accounts payable clerk. She was born March 10, 1951 in Cleveland, Mississippi, daughter of the late Alexander Steadman and Betty Walls Steadman and lived in Memphis until moving to Hickory Valley in 1997 when she married Leon. She enjoyed animals, reading, going to flea markets, mowing the grass and doing everything she could outside. She held her greatest love for her family. She was a member of Center Point Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, whom she married on November 15, 1997, survivors include two daughters, Judy (Robert) Myers of Bolivar and Stacy (Dustin) Dodson of Arvada, Colorado; 13 grandchildren, Alicia, Steven, Jacob, Krista, Brittany, Nicole, Holly, Robin, Joseph, Isaac, Aaron, Eva Rose and Elizabeth; and five great grandchildren, Naudia, Gracie, Riley, Daulton and D.J. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Robert Boyd "Bobby" Bailey, Jr. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to Center Point Baptist Church or the Baptist Cancer Center, 6019 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis, TN 38120.
