SHIRLEY NELL MOODY

 Henderson, TN: Shirley Nell Harber Moody age 87, passed away May 19, 2024, at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born February 14, 1937, in Dyer County and grew up in Shelby County, the daughter of the late Baalam Harrison and Lydia Marie Griffin Harber. She graduated from Bolton High School. She married Billy Reece Bradbury in 1957 and he preceded her in 1964. She later married Rubin Moody in 1976 and they made their home in Memphis. She worked as an Ad Clerk for the Memphis Commercial Appeal. Mr. Moody died in 1993.

She loved to sew and was active in Imperial Lanes Bowling League in Memphis.   

She was a member of Orchi Baptist Church in Memphis.   

Mrs. Moody is survived by two daughters, Patricia ‘Patti’ Harris (Mark) of Middleton, TN and Janet Griesser (Jim) of Gallatin, TN; five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and a sister, Michelle Pentecost of Arlington, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kenneth Bradbury, a sister, Virginia Baldoff and three brothers, Harrison Harber, Jack Harber and Billy Haber.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Shackelford Funeral Directors - Crook Avenue Chapel in Henderson, TN.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue Chapel from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM service time on Friday.
