Shirley Myers departed this life on Sunday, March 29, 2020, at the age of 78 years and 13 days. She was born in Bourbon County, Kentucky on March 16, 1942, the daughter of J.L. and Gladys Harper Barbee.
Shirley was a waitress and had worked for Tidwell Furniture. She loved her family and enjoyed playing Bingo and loved Tennessee.
She is survived by her daughters, Jessica Haddock of Savannah, Tennessee, Phyllis Woods of Elkhart, Indiana, and Stephanie Elkins of Battle Creek, Michigan; sons, David Woods of Elkhart, Indiana and Anthony Raines of Savannah, Tennessee; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; a brother, Donny Barbee of Elkhart, Indiana; and sisters, Judy Tidwell of Savannah, Tennessee, Candy Butt of Tucson, Arizona, and Penny Matlock of Elkhart, Indiana.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sons, Phillip Woods and Eric Raines; sister, Sandra Atkinson; and brothers, J.C. Barbee and Darrell Barbee.
In response to Governor Lee's Executive Order 17 which took effect at 12:01 AM March 23, 2020, there will be no public visitations or services through April 5, 2020. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.
